EILAT A short drive from the Egyptian border and separated from central Israel by the Negev desert, Eilat has a carefree, holiday atmosphere. The sun shines nearly 365 days a year in Eilat and it hardly ever rains. Winter temperatures are around 20 -30 degrees centigrade and Summer temperatures a glorious 40+ degrees. This is a dry heat with no humidity and usually a strong North breeze, so it is less unpleasant than the Mediterranean in the summer.
